Day 14 - Battambang to Kep

So we headed off to Kep today via Phenom Penh.  A mini bus from the gust house took us to the bus station where we waited for about 45 mins to board the bus.

Departing Battambang at 6:45am which really meant around 7:20.

Potato & peanut seller at bus station.

Rest stop number 1
Check out the egg roll

Kitchen at the bus stop
Scenery along the way
Rest stop number 2. More scenery below.

We arrived in Phnom Penn approx 1:20pm to transfer to another bus that took us to Kep.  We had an hour so took quick tuk tuk ride to the ATM as apparently their aren't any in Kep.

On the bus to Kep.  We left PP at 2:30 and the roads were so bad along the way that we didn't arrive until 7:45pm (was meant to be only 4 hours).

We arrived in the dark with no accommodation booking but were immediately surrounded by eager tuk tuk drivers keen to take us to our accommodation.  We had a recommendation for the Botanic Guesthouse so we got the driver to take us there.

It has a nice swimming pool which will be bliss tomorrow.

The things that we saw along the way but didn't have a camera ready were:

Cows with muzzles (maybe they are vicious!)

A mini van with approx 50 chicken strapped to the roof (not in cages extra but literally just lying flat on the roof) and a heap more hanging out the back door.

A motor bike being loaded into a tuk tuk.

So in summary our 9 hour bus trip took over 13 hours. We used a mini bus, bus, tuk tuk, bus and tuk tuk, and are enjoying dinner and a drink at our guest house in Kep!
